At the core of all problems and opportunities in an organization is its culture - ‘the way teams work out here’. It is a myth that cultural transformation is the last resort for enhancing performance and growing profits. People are like children. They must be constantly reminded how they are expected to behave. Transforming culture is therefore, absolutely, the first resort that an organization/its leader must take to. And, always, first attempt with what will work for your organization. Not with what you want working!
Globally, however, what works for any organization is a simple, time-tested principle.
There’s no limit to what people can achieve if they are told:
1. What they can do
2. How they can, and must do it
3. What will they get when they do it
4. That they a have role to play in shaping their own and each other's destiny!
